Where I Begin
Hello world! Until now, I haven’t been ready to share the way I want to. Now I’m ready, so here we go!
Where do you begin a blog about travel adventures when there’s a less-than-usual backstory? I have to start with a few things so you can really understand how I got to this moment.
First things first: I was born American, and now I live in Bali full time. I moved here in September 2015 with a plan to “see you on the beaches of the world”… annnnd I made it to Bali and basically settled down immediately. I birthed three beautiful girls on this island, and this is my home. This isn’t really a blog about my life in Bali, although I know I’ll occasionally feel called to share.
Ok, now that you know where I’m based, let’s fast-forward from my original landing in Bali and rewind from the present day to September 2025.
In September 2025, I was knee-deep in an extremely intense spiritual awakening. Holy intense balls, I can’t even put into words what that was like. But if you’ve ever gone through a dark night of the soul, a spiritual awakening, a kundalini activation or a twin flame journey (😂😂😂 I’m laughing now, but I was definitely not laughing then), you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, that’s ok too, because this story is still pretty interesting 😅
It was September 12th, and I was in the spiritual ecstasy part of my awakening. I had been working really hard to reset all of my emotions with a technique called NAET. It’s an excellent technique, and I credit the success of my healing journey to it and to the wonderful practitioner who helped me, a true angel in my life whom I’ll be forever grateful to 🫶🏼. I was also doing arhatic yoga daily and staying as high-vibrational as humanly possible.
My earthly karmic lessons were finished, and I was free.
On this particular day, I channeled the Greek god Apollo, and I heard him say that my earthly karmic lessons were finished and I was free. You’d better believe I took that moment and allowed myself to be forever changed. I immediately took the date and time, created my “rebirth” chart on Astrodienst, and dove headfirst into my new life.
From then on, things became so much easier for me. There were still some realllllly big things I needed to pass through, but I knew they were remnants of my old life. I also knew that if I stayed authentic and true to my newly realized self, I’d pass through them with flying colors!
For now… that’s all I’ll share about that. I’ve added a “Spiritual Awakening” tab to this blog because I can see myself sharing more of that journey. It’s what shaped who I am now, and it feeds directly into this blog and the travel adventures I’m about to start writing about.
